Meet your Instructor

Alex Castaneda is a Topeka native with a flair for the performing arts. After a childhood of teaching himself how to dance through movies and TV, Alex sought after a degree in Musical Theatre from Wichita State University. There, he cultivated the skills to choreograph, direct, and produce shows and recitals. Along with his degree, Alex has a rich background in performance across the US. Having worked in bars/clubs, rec-centers, professional and regional theatre, theme parks, and film, he currently serves as a freelance choreographer/dance instructor in Topeka, KS.

Alex Castaneda's wide variety knowledge and know-how offers countless opportunities for Topeka locals to choose their preferred style of dance and learn it in their own time and in a safe and positive environment.

Alex's dance lessons include (but are not limited to):

Ballet, Tap Dance, Jazz/Musical Theatre, Hip-hop, Contemporary, Partner Dance, and Dancing in High Heels. These lessons are available for KIDS AND ADULTS of all ages!

In addition dance lessons, Alex provides workshops to Topeka performers who may need assistance on a specific objective. Need help auditioning for a show? Alex will provide you with everything you need to know to walk into the audition with confidence. Singing and acting workshops are held upon request.

Alex's goal is to raise your confidence on the dance floor or stage. Reconnect with your body in a new way that forms trust between the rhythm and you! Wether you are dancing  center stage or on the sidelines at your best friend's wedding, your newly heightened love for dance will have you shining like a star!

Alex's dance studio is housed in a beautiful historic stone building at 3400 SW Topeka Boulevard. Most recently used as retail home of Gallery Classic. Formerly used as White Lakes Country Club clubhouse in 1907. Today, the second floor includes an acoustic domed stage and large wood dance floor. This is where all  dance lessons, workshops, shows, and other events will take place.
